GROOMING YOUR SUGAR GLIDER

TOWEL WHIPE
If you glider has gotten him or herself sticky with honey and you would like to whipe them down you can take a face cloth wet it and gently whipe your glider down till they are clean..
MASSAGE YOUR GLIDER

Even though sugar gliders don't need much grooming it is still important to massage you little glider every couple of weeks. Reason being that when you are doing so you will be able to recognise any growth, bumps, lumps or anything unusual witch could potentially save your babies life. Also not to mention your glider will love it and the bonding process will only get better!
MYTH

It is a myth that you much have your sugar gliders teeth shaved or trimmed. Sugar glider teeth do not continue growing and do not require that kind of care. It will only harm and handycap your glider.
THE TRICKY PART! NAIL TRIMMING!
GLIDER NAILS

TRIMMING GLIDER NAILS IS A TRICKY JOB AS THEY ARE NOT THE TYPE OF PET TO JUST LET YOU GO AHEAD AND CUT THEIR NAILS AT EASE.
YOUR BEST BET IS TO WRAP THEM IN A TOWEL WITH THEIR BODY AND HEAD COVERED WITH JUST A PAW THAT U WILL BE WORKING ON STICKING OUT.
MAKE SURE YOU HOLD ON TO THE PAW AS THE GLIDER WILL PULL BACK TO TAKE IT AWAY.
HAVING THEM WRAPPED IN THE BLANKET KEEPS THEM FROM ASSOCIATING BEING RESTRICTED FROM MOVING TO YOU AND DEVELOPING A GRUDGE. WITH THEIR EYES COVERED THEY ARE OBLIVIOUS.

TO CUT A SUGAR NAILS YOU CAN USE A NORMAL NAIL CLIPPER THAT YOU WOULD USE FOR YOUR OWN NAILS.

BUT WITH A GLIDER YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL BECAUSE THEY HAVE A VEIN GOING THROUGH THEIR NAIL AND IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY CUT TO FAR THEY WILL BLEED

IF AN ACCIDENT DOES OCCUR AND YOUR GLIDER STARTS TO BLEED DON'T PANIC! JUST DIP THEIR FOOT IN CORN STARCH FLOWER OR CALCIUM TO STOP THE BLEEDING THEN TREAT WITH POLYSTYRENE
